Jake Frye
Strength coach. Biomechanics instructor at Kansas State. Competitive powerlifter.
About Jake
Jake's respect for the weight room is not theoretical. After a brain and spinal injury on the high school football field, doctors told him he was still walking because his traps were strong enough to keep his head on straight. The lesson stuck: strength matters. That wake-up call became a career. He competed in CrossFit and powerlifting through college and grad school, qualifying for both Junior and Collegiate Nationals, and today he teaches Biomechanics at Kansas State. His background runs deep: bachelor's degrees in Kinesiology and Human Nutrition, master's degrees in Exercise Physiology and Integrative Physiology. Time in the lab reshaped how he coaches. He treats the body not as a stack of isolated parts but as one connected system, where environment, movement, and mindset feed each other. His philosophy is simple: the bigger the base, the higher the peak. Build a solid foundation and everything gets easier, because it takes a smaller slice of your max effort. Whether you are an athlete chasing a sport or an adult building a body that lets you live fully, Jake brings a little science and a lot of iron to the work.
